GCSE 10 Homework
Representation -
Find an image of a lifestyle magazine front cover on google. Add the image to your blog and dicuss it in terms of representation of -
Class
Gender
Ethnicity
Age
Sexuality
Religion
Not all of the representations may be evident, so if the representation is obviously not part of your chosen publications audience, do not attempt to cro-bar it in. For example, FHM is unlikely to contain religious representations.
Use evidence in terms of conventions and media language in your discussions. For example the font choice for the cover line on working in the city is in a Serif font, Serif fonts generally connote wealth and class, so the font choice is appropriate to the content of the magazine.
